FAQ

Quick answers for buyers.

Can I put the phone away during built-in AI play?

Yes. Built-in AI play can be started and played from the board without a phone, tablet, or internet connection. Initial setup, updates, and optional connected modes may still use the official app or another device.

Can adults use Cynus for casual chess?

Yes. Choose a lower built-in AI level for a calmer tabletop game or raise the challenge when you want to think harder. Cynus is designed for young players, families, adult chess players, and technology enthusiasts.

Can two friends play remotely from physical chessboards?

Cynus can connect through source-referenced third-party services for online human play. When both players use compatible electronic boards supported by the same service, each may be able to keep the game on physical pieces. Confirm the current two-board workflow and requirements with the service publisher before relying on it.

Do both remote players need a Cynus?

Not necessarily. Your side can use Cynus while the other player uses a setup supported by the selected online service. Board support, accounts, and connection requirements are controlled by that third-party publisher.

Does remote play require a phone or computer?

Usually yes. Connected play may require a phone, tablet, or computer, an internet connection, and an account with the selected service. The device provides the connection while Cynus keeps your moves on the physical board.

Does Cynus connect directly to another board?

No direct board-to-board connection is promised. Each player connects through a supported online platform or integration. Review compatible tools for current source-labeled paths.

Should I choose White or Gray?

Choose the finish you prefer in the Color selector before adding Cynus to cart. Product media shows both color directions where available.

Where are app links and setup docs?

Open Docs & Apps for the Cynus app, Quick Start, Upgrade Guide, BLE protocol, Python demo, and compatibility resources.
